OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 launched in India: Let’s talk
Updated: Jan 29, 2022
Today OnePlus launched OnePlus 9RT in India along with OnePlus buds Z2. OnePlus 9RT starts at ₹42,999 and open sale will begin with Great Amazon Republic Day Sale.

OnePlus 9RT was launched in China back in October and this is the first time that OnePlus delayed launch of smartphone in India and they are continuing this trend with OnePlus 10 series globally.
OnePlus 9RT is more of hybrid of OnePlus 9 pro and OnePlus 9R. The company began T line-up starting with OnePlus 3T and at was a hit. They are more of budget friendly OnePlus flagships for those who are not willing to give top-price but also do not wish to settle with Nord series. I feel t-series is little over priced compared to other smartphone in the same price range giving the same processor.
T-series are beast at their performance, “good” at photography and little “friendly” on pocket. The story for the T version is always have been the same and it will always remain the same unless OnePlus re-writes their strategy. It’s not a smartphone where OnePlus would give any efforts. It’s more of residue of thoughts. It’s not a bad smartphone by any means but it’s predictable at this point.
OnePlus 9RT comes with Android 11 out of the box. The company promises all the flagship three major OS update and four years of security update from the date of launch. On other hand, Nord series will get two major OS upgrade and three years of security update.
OnePlus also launched OnePlus buds Z2 with the same design as previous OnePlus buds Z at the price tag of ₹4999. They have used ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ mentality because the previous design was great hit. OnePlus buds Z was more loved than OnePlus Buds – First TWS by the company.

There were two main factors because of which OnePlus buds Z out-performed more costlier OnePlus Buds. First- the rubber tip, which is very underrated feature. It turned out that OnePlus Buds was not made for everyone’s ear and it was uncomfortable to wear. Second- the sweet price point. OnePlus buds Z was cheaper comparatively and better priced than competitors.
The price of OnePlus buds Z2 is reasonable enough and what sounds well, sells well. I haven’t got the chance to try the earphones so I won’t comment on the sound quality but as a OnePlus buds Z user I expect it would be rocking enough with high bass.
OnePlus buds will be available from 17th January for Prime members and open sale will begin from 18th January.
